On December 6, the 40th Anniversary Academic Cultural Festival of Huiqiao Building of Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University was held in Huiqiao Medical Center, and the opening ceremony of the new building of Huiqiao Building was also held.

The brand-new Huiqiao No. 2 building has added 196 wards, equipped with a smart ward system, and will create an international diagnosis and treatment area, a diagnosis and treatment area for famous doctors and a special Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment area, and provide one-stop high-quality medical services for patients at home and abroad.

The Huiqiao Section of Nanfang Hospital was established in 1979. It is one of the country’s medical service institutions for foreign-related special needs that opened early, on a large scale, and admitted many overseas patients. It is also a health care, foreign-related and high-end medical center of the hospital. The Huiqiao Building of Nanfang Hospital has made great contributions to overseas Chinese and foreign-related medical services over the years, and this contribution has also won the attention of national leaders.

In addition to complete and luxurious facilities, service is the main push of the Huiqiao Building of Southern Hospital, focusing on details and humanity. The interior wall design of Huiqiao Building uses a large area of about 30,000 square meters of Pinger antibacterial vinyl wall panel. The warm yellow wall of the whole building is warm and elegant, green and environmentally friendly, non-toxic and harmless, always escorting patients and providing more service purpose.

The ward is a semi-private hotel ward, independent of other wards in the hospital. Each patient has a separate ward, with two rooms and one living room, single rooms and other types of rooms. Some wards have sky gardens.

In 1995, the then President of the State wrote an inscription for the center: "Save the dying and heal the wounded, make selfless dedication, work hard, and always keep true." In the same year, the Central Military Commission awarded the Huiqiao Medical Center the title of "Model Medical Huiqiao Section". In 1996, President Jiang Zemin specially ordered the Huiqiao Building of Nanfang Hospital to be designated as the "Model Medical Huiqiao Section". In 2016, it was awarded the "National Advanced Primary Party Organization" by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the "National Worker Pioneer" by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and the "National Demonstration Site for Lei Feng Activities" by the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. This has also established the status of Huiqiao Building in special medical services.
